General questions
How was the Lykoi cat created?
There’s no master potion in regard to creating the werewolf cat! Lykoi throughout the world are first the result of a natural mutation found in the feral cat community and secondly are the result of diligent breeders working to produce healthy kittens that exhibit the Lykoi traits.
What’s the Lykoi cats personality like?
Lykoi can run the gamut depending upon the lineage. We at Nevada Lykoi strive to produce west coast Lykoi kittens with outgoing, social personalities. We are hands on with our Lykoi kittens and Lykoi cats—we are constantly handling, kissing and snuggling our babies as they grow. We want you to bring home the perfect new Lykoi kitten to your home and we believe personality matters!
Do the Lykoi cats have any known health problems?
At this point, Lykois tend to be a healthy breed of cat, but breeders need to continue working towards this goal. Currently we occasionally see skin issues and dental issues, but data is still missing to make a definite determination in this regard. As far as skin issues, we recommend owners continue bathing their kittens bimonthly after they head home—this will help head off any issues in the later years if a skin issue was to develop.
What does a Lykoi cat’s fur feel like?
Whether it’s a Lykoi kitten or a Lykoi cat—their fur is soft! It’s not wiry like expected!
How much is a Lykoi from Nevada Lykoi?
Our kittens are typically $2200 and up—we require a $250 NONREFUNDABLE holding fee when you pick out the Lykoi kitten of your choice and then the balance is due when the kitten goes home.
Do you sell breeding cats?
This is probably the number one question we receive and no. We do not place Lykoi with breeding rights. We are working hard to educate the public and to produce healthy kittens. At this point, there is a huge influx of new breeders with very little knowledge and no mentoring in regard to this breed and frankly, we don’t feel this is a responsible approach to creating a new breed.
Are there any available Lykois in Nevada?
Nevada Lykoi typically has litters available throughout the year—check our Kitten Available page to see if we have any werewolf kittens available today!
